Supporting Living Wages, Ethical Employment & Community Care

A New Alternative to Traditional Tipping

For many years, tipping has been the primary way clients have chosen to recognize exceptional service. While we deeply appreciate every gratuity our Cleaning Professionals receive, we also recognize that tipping can feel inconsistent, difficult to budget, or simply not reflect how every client prefers to show appreciation.

The Uplift Initiative was created as an alternative.

Rather than relying primarily on optional gratuities to bridge the gap between standard pricing and living wages, the Uplift Initiative allows clients who wish to invest further in our team and community to do so in a transparent, intentional way.

Participation is always optional. Our Standard Pricing remains available to every client and compensates our cleaning professionals at approximately 40% of the service price, which is in line with typical industry compensation. Clients who choose to participate in our optional Uplift programs help move that compensation closer to a living wage.

Why We Created the Uplift Initiative

Professional residential cleaning involves much more than the hours spent inside your home.

When you hire a professional cleaning company, you're investing in the planning, communication, scheduling, training, quality assurance, insurance, equipment, and ongoing support that make reliable service possible.

You're also supporting the professional work that happens outside of appointments—reviewing Service Journals and notes, coordinating with clients and teammates, preparing for visits, ongoing training, and the many responsibilities that help ensure every appointment runs smoothly.

Rather than increasing our Standard Pricing across the board, we've chosen to create optional programs that allow each client to decide whether—and how—they'd like to invest beyond Standard Pricing.

Many of our clients already recognize exceptional service through gratuity, and we're deeply grateful for that generosity. In many cases, those gratuities help bring a Cleaning Professional's earnings closer to our long-term compensation goals.

However, gratuities primarily benefit the individual Cleaning Professional providing that day's service. They don't help build the training, equipment, operational support, or long-term stability needed to create sustainable careers and a stronger business for our entire team.

The Living Wage Uplift Initiative was created to support both.

Four Ways to Support

Clients are welcome to participate in one, several, or none of these optional programs.
